So what if you have access to Auspex? You're probably not going to have enough XP to make it very good since you're going to be taking Dominate up to 3 and Thaumaturgy to 5. Blood Shield gives you tons of damage resistance, allowing for melee to be a viable option. You can then beat them to death with ease. As Evolver mentioned, Blood Purge makes every enemy near you (a radius of like 15-20 feet) start vomiting blood, including vampires.
I've done Tremere builds using Firearms and they weren't as good as Melee builds.
